Backup that survives ransomware.
And the audit.
We back up everything that matters. Endpoints, servers, databases, Microsoft 365. With daily snapshots, immutable storage, and granular recovery. The kind of backup your cyber insurance carrier asks about, your auditor expects, and your business depends on when something goes wrong. Pair this with our Disaster Recovery for full continuity.
Most backups fail when you need them most.
Backup is one of those things every MSP claims, few do correctly, and you only find out the truth when you actually try to restore. Here’s how we run it differently.
Microsoft and most SaaS don’t back you up
The shared responsibility model puts backup on you, not them. Their retention is not backup. A ransomware event, a rogue admin, an accidental delete. Without third-party backup, the data is gone. Every cyber insurance carrier asks about this now.
Ransomware crews target backups first
Modern ransomware isn’t satisfied with encrypting your live data. They specifically hunt and destroy your backup repositories before triggering the payload. Immutable, air-gapped, off-site storage is no longer optional.
Granular recovery beats full restore
Most restores aren’t ‘rebuild the server’. They’re ‘get back one deleted email,’ ‘undo the SharePoint accident,’ ‘recover the file the intern overwrote.’ We size backup for granular recovery, not just disaster scenarios.
Cyber insurance demands documented posture
Carriers want to know: what’s backed up, how often, where it’s stored, how often it’s tested, how quickly you can recover. The wrong answer raises your premium or denies your renewal. We document everything in a posture report yours to keep.
Four backup engagements that cover what matters
Endpoint & Server Backup
Image-based backup of workstations, laptops, and servers. Daily snapshots, point-in-time restore, bare-metal recovery to dissimilar hardware. The foundation that lets you replace any device with a current image inside an hour.
Microsoft 365 Backup
Third-party backup of Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. The layer Microsoft does not provide. Granular email/file recovery, retention beyond Microsoft’s defaults, and the audit trail your carrier expects.
Database & Application Backup
SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, line-of-business app data, accounting systems, EHR/EMR databases. Application-consistent snapshots, transaction-log retention, and tested restore procedures.
Backup Monitoring & Verification
Daily backup health checks, automated restore tests, and quarterly recovery validation. Most MSPs set backup once and check the dashboard occasionally. We verify every backup actually works, because untested backups are not backups.
What we use to protect your data.
Different workloads need different backup tools. We deploy what fits, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Image-Based BCDR
On-prem appliance plus cloud replication for image-based backup of servers and workstations. Built-in instant virtualization for fast recovery and DR readiness.
M365 SaaS Backup
Daily snapshots of Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. Granular recovery (single email, single file), immutable storage, retention beyond Microsoft defaults.
VMware & Hyper-V Backup
For VMware and Hyper-V environments at scale: instant VM recovery, replication to secondary site, application-aware snapshots for SQL/Exchange. Enterprise-grade with broad workload support.
Immutable Cloud Storage
Off-site backup copies stored in immutable, air-gapped cloud storage that ransomware cannot encrypt or delete. The 3rd copy in your 3-2-1 strategy, and the one your carrier asks about by name.
Backup posture shaped by your regulators.
Different industries have different retention, audit, and recovery requirements. Every vertical, its own playbook.
No contracts, no surprises, no offshore handoff
Three steps from “we should talk” to “your data is protected and verified.”
Discovery + backup walkthrough
30-min call about what data matters most, your current backup setup, and your recovery expectations. Then a 30-min review of your environment, remote or on-site.
Backup posture report
Within 3 business days you receive a written assessment: what’s backed up, what’s not, gaps in coverage, retention compliance, ransomware-resistance posture, and a scoped proposal. Yours to keep.
Deploy + verify
If we are a fit, we deploy backup across your environment, configure monitoring, run the first verification restore, and document everything. A named engineer owns your backup health from day one.
What people ask before they call
What’s the difference between backup and disaster recovery?
Backup is what you save. Disaster recovery is how you recover. They’re complementary, not interchangeable. Backup gets you data back; DR gets you a working environment back. We do both. See our Disaster Recovery service for the recovery orchestration side.
Do you back up Microsoft 365?
Yes. Third-party M365 backup is included with our managed backup service. Microsoft’s shared responsibility model puts backup on you. Their retention policies are not backup. We deploy Datto SaaS Protection across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams with daily snapshots and granular recovery.
How fast can you recover from a ransomware event?
Depends on what is hit. For workstation-level encryption, hours. For server-level encryption with our SIRIS appliance, the affected systems can virtualize within the appliance in minutes while we clean and restore the originals. For full environment compromise, see our DR page for full continuity planning.
What about immutable backups?
Yes, immutable cloud storage is standard in our deployments. Off-site backup copies sit in storage that ransomware cannot encrypt or delete. Air-gapped, write-once-read-many. This is what carriers and auditors look for now.
Do you test restores or just back up?
Test restores are part of the service, not an extra. We run automated daily verification on the backups, monthly granular restore tests, and quarterly tabletop scenarios. Untested backups are not backups. We don’t make that mistake.
What’s the retention?
Depends on your industry and compliance requirements. Default retention is 30 days for daily snapshots, 12 months for monthlies. For regulated industries (HIPAA 6 years, IRS 7 years, etc.) we configure to meet the actual requirement. Documented in your backup posture report.
Who owns our passwords and IT documentation?
You do. We maintain a client portal where all your credentials, vendor info, and IT documentation are always available to you, so if you ever need to vet another vendor or move on, nothing is held hostage.
Do you require a long-term contract?
No, we do not require one. Assessment is free, onboarding is scoped, and ongoing services default to month-to-month. Cancel any time. For clients who want budget predictability or locked-in pricing, we also offer 1-year and 3-year agreements.
